Warning against the use of colistin gradient tests!
The EUCAST Development Laboratory together with EUCAST Network Laboratories have evaluated the colistin gradient tests currently available from bioMérieux and Liofilchem.MIC-values are often too low and this causes false susceptibility (VME). Manufacturers have been informed and are aiming to solve the problem. Current gradient tests should be withdrawn from use!
